After a distinguished career in corporate finance and management spanning over two decades, Simon Crisp has turned his focus to supporting small businesses in the Brookvale community. With a passion for empowering local entrepreneurs, Simon now brings his wealth of experience to Brainiact, a personalised business coaching service.
Simon’s career began in South Africa, where he trained as a Chartered Accountant. This foundation propelled him into roles with global organisations, including Deloitte, Optus, and Telstra. Over the years, Simon developed expertise in financial leadership, business strategy, and change management, excelling in roles that demanded dynamic problem-solving and a strategic mindset.
“My career has been about driving growth and delivering measurable results, but what I’ve enjoyed most is helping teams and individuals realise their potential,” says Simon. “As a business coach, I’m excited to bring that same focus to small businesses in Brookvale, helping them navigate challenges and build sustainable success.”
Simon’s most recent role as Finance Director for a global market research agency saw him driving organisational transformation, consolidating brands, and building highly engaged teams. He played a pivotal role in maintaining team morale and productivity through significant changes, including the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Simon’s approach to business coaching is deeply rooted in his corporate expertise but tailored for the realities of small business.
“I understand the pain points small business owners face, from cash flow challenges to scaling operations,” explains Simon. “My goal is to simplify the complex and deliver actionable strategies that drive real results.”
Now based in the Northern Beaches, Simon has developed strong ties with Brookvale’s business community. As a significant commercial and industrial hub within Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Brookvale plays a vital role in the local economy.
The Northern Beaches Council area, encompassing Brookvale, is home to approximately 32,905 local enterprises, collectively creating over 116,000 jobs. Simon is passionate about fostering growth and supporting local entrepreneurs, recognising that helping small businesses in Brookvale thrive strengthens the entire region.
“Small businesses in Brookvale are the heartbeat of this community. Helping them succeed means strengthening the entire local economy,” says Simon.
Beyond his professional life, Simon is a devoted family man, celebrating 25 years of marriage and proud father to two teenagers. In his free time, Simon can often be found mountain biking around local trails, cycling through nearby national parks, or catching waves at local beaches.
