Golden Grove’s visionary: Reviving local entrepreneurship

Renowned business broker Paul Wilkey, known for his significant contributions in helping business owners nationwide maximise their equity, is now bringing his expertise to his hometown, Golden Grove. With a focus on nurturing local small businesses, Paul is driving growth and success within the community.

Paul’s impressive career began at 21 when he managed his family’s automotive parts distribution business, expanding its reach nationally and capturing more than 30% of the market share. The business was later sold to Singapore-based MTQ Engine Systems, where Paul excelled as the National Sales and Operations Manager.

Leveraging this extensive experience, Paul has joined Brainiact as a business coach to Golden Grove’s small businesses. His mission? To help them build strong businesses and effective exit strategies.

Paul’s goal is rooted in his belief that business owners deserve to reap the full rewards of their hard work. His coaching services aim to guide local businesses from inception to successful sale, ensuring they realise their maximum potential.

“Too often, I hear the heartbreaking stories of business owners failing to capitalise on their life’s work due to poor choices and planning,” says Paul. “I’m here to rewrite that story by guiding them through growth and preparing them for a profitable future.”

With over 6,000 businesses in Golden Grove and more than 112,000 in Greater Adelaide, Paul’s expertise is a valuable asset to the local economy. Paul is passionate about using his industry expertise to be a business coach that directly and positively impacts the community.

“I’ve spent years travelling for work, but Adelaide is where my heart is,” says Paul. “I’m excited to dive back into the local scene and contribute to its prosperity.”

A resident of Golden Grove for 27 years and a lifelong Adelaide local, Paul is deeply embedded in the community. He supports the Golden Grove Football Club, where his daughter plays for the Kookaburras Women’s Football team, and the Strikers Netball club, where his eldest daughter plays. Paul’s other passion is motorbike riding, both dirt and road bikes. He’s also a familiar face at popular spots like the Golden Grove Tavern and cafes like Zitto or Zeea’s Eatery. There, he enjoys a great coffee or snack while catching up with local business owners, further highlighting his dedication to seeing Golden Grove thrive.
